Windows Vista Upgrade AdvisorWindows Vista Upgrade Advisor is a tool from Microsoft to help determine if a Windows XP-based PC can run Windows Vista. Follow the steps below to run Upgrade Advisor.
Note: Internet access is required to complete these steps.
- With the computer started and running Windows XP, place the Windows Vista Upgrade disc in the CD\DVD drive. The disc automatically starts and an Install Windows screen appears. Click Check compatibility online.
Note: You can also access the Upgrade Advisor directly from the Microsoft Web site.

- In the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor window, click the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor link.

- In the File Download - Security Warning dialog box, click Run.
